Getting the Most Out of Your Attorneytorrent reginald perrin

Handling a lawsuit is a team effort. In order to get the best outcome, each member of the team must know his or her job and must work with all the other members of the team. For your lawsuit, the team includes your attorney, Paul; your paralegal, Crystal or Becky or Jeanette; you; and your witnesses. There are some things that only Paul can do, and some things that only you can do.

Paul's job is to develop the strategy to win your case, to appear with you at the hearing, and to prepare any documents, such as briefs, that are necessary in any appeals.

The paralegal's job is to work with you to develop the evidence we need to win the case, and to keep track of the current status of the case.

You have as many jobs as we do, or more. These are the things that only you can do:

Give us your current address and telephone number every time they change. Call your paralegal when you become aware of a new witness or when you go to a new doctor. Follow prescribed medical treatment to the best of your ability. If it doesn't seem like the best thing to do, get your doctor to change the prescription. Know what the next step is in your case, and when it should happen. Help us keep the case on track by knowing at all times when you should contact your paralegal if we do not contact you.

Who should you call, and when? With changes of address, new doctor's names, and questions about the status of your claim, you should call your paralegal. She is the one who knows best the answer to those questions. Give her the chance to answer any question you have. She is right there, and you will get the answer immediately.

If you have a question that only Paul can answer, and he is not in, leave you question with the person you talk to. You will get an answer faster that way.

If you leave a message for Paul, be aware that he is often out of the office for several days at a time. He tries to return routine calls within a few days if at all possible.

On the other hand, if there is an emergency, your paralegal can get in touch with Paul wherever he is and at any time.

Should you just drop by, or should you set an appointment? You should set an appointment. Paul is as often as not out of the office, and when he is there his schedule is set. We are always glad to set a special time aside for you.
